The Chanel Coco Handle Bag was first introduced in the Fall Winter 2015 Collection Act 1. It went from zero to hero within the first month. Everyone loves the Coco Handle Bag today and who knows? Maybe it will join Chanel’s Classic Collection one day. But for now, it’s trending like no tomorrow. It’s so famous that Chanel decided to create a new variation. For the Fall Winter 2017 Collection, the Coco Handle Bag is made with Stitched Chevron.

The Design

The Chevron Quilting is designed with careful stitching and it looks as classic as Diamond Quilting. The first version of the Coco Handle Bag was famous for their Lizard Handle, but for now the Chevron Quilting edition will only come with leather handle. It’s also made with calfskin, which feels smooth (not grainy) on the leather.

This Coco Handle Bag can be carried by hand or on your shoulder thanks to the long woven leather chain strap. The Chevron V Quilting is done brilliantly and according to Chanel’s authenticity code. The V design on the flap symmetrical to the body, the quilting is aligned with the rest of the bag.

The interior

The interior is quite spacious. The inside features one large compartment to store all your daily essentials, but it also comes with a zipper pocket, a patch pocket and a central zipper compartment. The color of the interior resembles to the Classic handbags, it’s made in burgundy red.

Style code A92990, measuring 5.5’ x 9.4’ x 3.9’ inches,priced at $3000 USD, €2950 euro, £2550 GBP, $23800 HKD, $4520 AUD, $4100 CAD, $4740 SGD, ¥368280 JPY, ¥23300 CNY via Chanel boutiques.

Fashion photography is ushering in a new era with fresh names.Fashion photography is ushering in a new era with fresh names. Photos (left to right): Harley Weir for Calvin Klein, Zoe Ghertner for Hermes, Jamie Hawkesworth for Alexander McQueen, Gregory Harris for Versus Versace and Theo Wenner for Chloe.

In the world of fashion, one of the most important roles goes to the photographer. The image makers can help make models stars, cement the image of a brand or even inspire aspiring photographers. We are all familiar with well-established names like Steven Meisel, Mert & Marcus and Mario Testino. And throughout the past several years, fashion has introduced new rising names to the field. Here, we talk about the photographers of today including Harley Weir, Jamie Hawkesworth, Theo Wenner, Zoe Ghertner and Gregory Harris.

Raised in the United Kingdom, Harley Weir became known for her unique, seemingly candid style. Part of the new guard of female fashion photographers, she does not shy away from eroticism as shown by her controversial Calvin Klein campaign. With a BA in Fine Art from Central St Martins College of Art and Design, Weir is self-taught. The photographer shot to massive success after shooting Calvin Klein’s spring-summer 2016 campaign.

Soon afterwards, she would shoot advertisements for brands such as Balenciaga, Stella McCartney and Missoni. In a 2016 interview with i-D, she says this about the legacy she hopes to leave with her work. “I’d like to be a part of a time when women are free from suppressing laws and ridiculous traditions.” Weir also photographed covers of magazines such as POP, Self Service and most recently--Vogue Italia.

Another rising star in fashion photography is British lensman Jamie Hawkesworth. He previously worked as Alasdair McLellan’s assistant photographer. A style of documentary-inspired images, frequently shot on film, landed him campaigns for brands such as Miu Miu, Loewe, Alexander McQueen and J.W. Anderson.

In an interview with i-D, the photographer says about his profession, “Just being a photographer — that commitment to time spent taking photographs, because that's what it is. To me, it's not a set up, conceptual act; it's spending time by yourself with your camera taking photographs.” Hawkesworth’s work can also be seen in magazines like W Magazine, LOVE, Vogue Paris and Vogue US.

Moynat Gabrielle

Categories:Other Brands

Now that Moynat has opened her doors in Singapore as of last Friday, it is time to properly reintroduce the entire catalogue of bags, SLGs and accessories from the French luxury atelier both new and old. And one of their newer bags includes Gabrielle, named after the founder Pauline Moynat’s first muse, Gabrielle-Charlotte Reju.

Introduced as recently as 2016, the Gabrielle family has since expanded into 3 different sizes, the Mini Gabrielle (20 cm by 15 cm by 8 cm), the Little Gabrielle (26 cm by 18 cm by 9 cm) and the Gabrielle, which is also the largest of the trio at 31 cm by 21 cm by 12 cm. Beautifully structured in Carat Calfskin leather, it is much slimmer (and sharper) than the Réjane, which you could consider its more-rounded sister.

Finished with calfskin lining (because Moynat doesn’t believe in cheap fabric interiors) and accompanied with a shoulder sling that’s both adjustable in length and removable, you can now view it to your hearts’ content (and hopefully decide to bring her home) at Moynat’s first boutique that’s located within Takashimaya Shopping Centre. Priced from SGD5420 and up, the Gabrielle family also extends to a clutch and a sling bag, known as Gabrielle Clutch and the Gabrielle Reporter respectively.

Modern, smart and a great bag for work or play, trust me when I say this. While I was holding fort at Moynat on Friday and Saturday, half the women gravitated to the Réjane, while the other half simply couldn’t keep their eyes (or hands) off the Gabrielle.
